SYXCLOUD - Power outage
Updates
This morning at 8:01 am a short circuit occurred in the power supply of one of our servers.
This has caused the fuse of one of our power circuits to blow.
Combined with the boot storm, this caused such a spike on the second circuit that the other fuse also blew at 8:31 am.
This unfortunate combination of circumstances meant that we were completely without power at this time.
Fortunately, we were already in contact with the datacenter and they were able to immediately send a technician on-site.
After investigating, the technician was able to turn the fuses back on, allowing the host servers to restart at 9:03 am.
At 09:18 the host servers were fully booted and we could start booting up the virtual machines.
First the domain controllers, then the SQL servers, Web servers, Citrix server, etc.
At 10:59 all critical components had been started and all services were back online.
We will discuss this with our hardware supplier and the hosting datacenter about how this could have happened and how we can prevent this in the future.
Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this has caused.
